Dallas Mavericks / 3-19-2008

Jason Kidd has had an outstanding NBA career. He has played 14 years and been to nine all-star games. Jason was the central figure in one of the major trades made at the deadline this year when he was sent back to the Mavericks from the Nets. Jason called into the Jungle on Wednesday to talk about the way his new team is playing with him at the point and about his career in the NBA.

I give Jason credit for fulfilling his commitment to do the interview. He did not have a great night against the Lakers Tuesday. The Mavs fell behind by 20+ points early. Jason told me that his team came out flat and the Lakers jumped on them. I wondered, out loud, how a team fighting for their playoff lives in the West can come out flat against the one of the best teams in the conference?

We talked about the guys he used to play against growing up in the Bay Area. He told me that the guys that stick out were Brian Shaw and Gary Payton and Greg Foster. I thought it was amusing that Greg Foster was one of the guys that came to mind. Greg used to come on all the time and was a good interview.
