L.A. Dodgers / 4-16-2008

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a new manager and new direction this season. One of the guys on Joe Torre's staff is former manager Larry Bowa. Larry has always been one of my favorite guys to talk to! He called into the show on Wednesday and we talked about the new Dodgers under Joe Torre and how Larry likes baseball on the west coast.

Larry praised Torre for his managing ability and pointed out the job he did last year with a Yankees team that was counted out early and rallied to make the playoffs. Larry has been in charge before and he said it would normally be difficult to work for someone after you have managed before, but that Torre is the exception.

Larry said he likes the fact that newcomer Andruw Jones is hearing boos from the home crowd. Andruw has not gotten off to a good start and the fans have let him know it. Larry says that is a good thing, because it proves how passionate the fans are about their team. Of course, when you managed and played in Philadelphia, boos are an everyday part of baseball.
