In the history of this show, few interviews have struck a cord like the time Jim MacLaren called into the show. Jim has a truly remarkable life story and he told me that story on the show one day. We received thousands of emails and calls commenting on Jim's courage and will to live. I found out recently that Jim has suffered some hard times in recent months and I wanted to help out as much as I could. Jim's friend, Eric Northbrook, called into the show to talk about what has happened with Jim recently and to give out his foundations website for those that wanted to help.
Eric said Jim was sitting in his wheelchair on his porch a few months ago when a gust of wind blew his front door open, slammed into his wheelchair causing it to fall over. After spending hours laying on the floor, until his attendant found him, they discovered that he broke his kneecap in the fall. Jim has been unable to work ever since and has come into some hard times financially and emotionally.
Eric told me that Jim is a very proud man who would never ask for help, and that is why his friend took it upon himself to call in and ask for help for Jim. Eric said that if anyone wanted to donate money to help with Jim's situation, listeners can go to: www.headnorth.org.
