The better team won! The Celtics were not just better…they were much better! The Lakers were “out-played”, “out-coached”, “out-classed”, “out-hustled”, “out-toughed”, “out-hearted”…and they did not belong on the same floor with the Celtics. And, getting “punked” the way they did last night, in an NBA Finals game, was embarrassing!
I’m not saying I expected the Lakers to win, but I didn’t expect them to get humiliated. I have no interest in who won that game, but that effort makes me ashamed to live in California. The entire nation saw that “punk job”! They got “punched in the face” a few times early on, and they just “rolled over” and “gave in”. The Lakers have no mental or physical toughness and are the very definition of “soft”. And, they better address this in the off-season.
I don’t expect Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol to get “bad ass” over the summer. You can’t teach that and you can’t coach that. Either you have it, or you don’t…and they don’t! The Lakers are going to have to go out and bring in some guys who do have it.
Again, losing is fine. I’m alright with that! I thought L.A. would win, but Boston is the better team. Boston was much better than the Lakers and much better than anyone gave them credit for. For L.A. to get “punked” like that, on the sports biggest stage, showing no heart or pride…is completely unforgivable and a “soft” effort.
If you’re going to “go down”, go down “throwing some punches” and “play though”! I’m not looking to take anything away from Boston. That was a great win for that franchise.
