This was a busy weekend for college football, with the Pac-10 making statements and taking on water at the same time.

How does the same conference make a major step in the right direction and then fade on the same day? This is how.

UCLA had a big win over the artist formerly known as Oklahoma, beating the Sooners 41-24. This was a big win for the Bruin program. They had a big win over a ranked ‘name’ team for the first time in a very long time.

Even though Oklahoma is far from being the same Oklahoma, it’s officially time to start thinking about ‘06 in Norman.

Another big victory in the Pac happened when Oregon rallied form a 17-0 deficit to beat Fresno State and of course USC dropped 70 on Arkansas. Yes 70 and USC called off the dogs to do it. Had they been so inclined, the Trojans could have scored triple digits. This was the worse beating for Arkansas in nearly 100 years as USC scored 4 TD’s on the first 8 plays! That’s simply ridiculous. So that’s the good news for the Pac.

The bad news is, Stanford lost to UC Davis and as far as upsets go, that’s about the worst loss ever. Well done fellas.
