The Patriots showed they’re not super human Sunday. Surprisingly, they actually have off-days and lose every once in a while. The Pats dropped their first of the season to the Carolina Panthers and Pro-Bowl Special Teamer Larry Izzo called into the Jungle on Monday to talk about the loss and the upcoming game against the Steelers. Larry shared with me a life changing experience he had while visiting IRAQ and has decided to help raise money for the troops and their families.
Larry said the last thing the guys in their locker room are going to do is panic. They do have concerns about a few things they hope to address soon because they have the 2-0 Steelers in Pittsburgh this Sunday. The bad thing is they lost, the good thing is they really don't have any time to dwell on it because Pittsburgh is a great team and they have to get ready.
Larry went on a visit to IRAQ and Afghanistan this last March. He met with a few thousand troops. When he returned he decided to do something to help those troops and their families. Larry is putting on a celebrity Karaoke event on October 24th in Boston to raise money. You can go to Ticketmasters right now and purchase tickets to the event, it’s a great cause.
Larry told me a story of one soldier he ran into. It was a guy in his second tour overseas who was a big sports fan. Larry said he read a news account soon after he got back that said a soldier went down in a helicopter and died. Larry recognized the name and that’s when things really hit home.
