Matt Ryan has done just that for the Atlanta Falcons, who have quickly become the best story in the league this year. They have already matched their win total from the disastrous '07 season and look to have turned the franchise around in short time. Matt called into the Jungle on Wednesday to talk about his rookie campaign and the play of the team until now.
Matt gave a lot of credit to his coaches and his supporting teammates when I asked him how he has made things look as easy as he has. He talked about the play in the final seconds of the game against Chicago on Sunday when he hit Michael Jenkins on an out pattern with one second left to give his field goal kicker a chance to win the game.
We talked about the mood of the team when he arrived in Atlanta after a year in which they lost their star quarterback to prison and their Head Coach quit on them. Matt told me that the players were ready to move on when he got there and that they try not to talk about last season.
