And the Cowboys can profess all the shock they want over Roger Goodell suspending “Pacman” Jones indefinitely, but the fact is they got lucky. They got lucky and Jones got over. Because, if Goodell really did have a zero tolerance policy regarding “Pac”, he would have kicked him out of the league altogether!
If there really is a zero tolerance policy regarding “Pacman” in place, why is he still in the NFL? The answer is, there isn’t one! Because, while he may or may not get another shot with the Cowboys, if he can somehow stay down for another month; and that’s anything but a lock…h0e’ll get one more shot from Goodell. Obviously, or Goodell would have broken him off permanently, not indefinitely.
And for you Cowboys’ honks who are complaining that the punishment doesn’t fit the crime…you’re right. It’s doesn’t. It’s not severe enough! You make it sound like Jones just slipped up once…but he didn’t. It’s not the first time…it’s the 13th time! A “baker’s dozen”! The 13th time the cops have been called in to deal with him since he was drafted. 13 times! I could take everyone I have met in my lifetime and combined, the cops haven’t been called 13 times to deal with them. But Jones has done it all by himself, since being drafted. 14 strikes and you’re out “Pac”!
Playing in the NFL is a privilege not a right, a privilege that he’s on the verge of losing…if he hasn’t already. And as lenient and as forgiving as Jerry Jones is, as bad as “Pacman: has made him look, I don’t know how he can bring him back?!
