Steve talked about what it was like while he was away from Houston playing in Orlando and New York and being able to observe and learn. Steve talked about the other offers on the table, but what it came down to was “being comfortable”. Steve talked about being able to play with Yao Ming again and spoke about his development with the team. On Tracy McGrady, Steve and him said they both have the goal of getting the Rockets to a championship level. Steve talked about his 2nd career game taking on Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz and realizing he had made it to the NBA. Steve talks about his physical condition right now after being pretty beat up last season. Steve talks about what type of coach a player wants to play for in the NBA. Steve gave his thoughts on the Michael Vick situation…saying he’s a great player that made the wrong decision and the wrong time. And, Steve talked about Bonzi Wells sticking around with the Rockets and the trade deals and restructuring that new GM Daryl Morey has taken with the team after replacing former GM Carroll Dawson.

P.J. went onto talk about the long process getting into this position working with General Manager Sam Presti and team owner Clay Bennett. P.J. also talked about his new coaching style gained from the last 7 year learning process working television and being an Assistant Coach. He gave his take on the Sonics #2 NBA 2007 draft pick Kevin Durant and what he expects to get out of him on and off the floor. P.J. then talked about the winning coaches in the league and their accomplishments with the great rosters they have in a “Player’s League”.

7 foot center for the Washington Huskies / Stats / Talks about how anxious the feelings are leading up to the draft and eager to play summer league ball. Discusses the focus of the teams. Doesn’t know where he will be going in the draft, or to who and says the top 2 picks are well-deserved. Says there is a lot of depth in this draft and it could be the best in years. Is glad to be at full strength for the workouts and recovered from being sick from a stomach virus and gaining back the weight the right way. Felt it was unlucky break after unlucky break, but didn’t let injuries affect his decision. Came out for the draft for the opportunity to contribute right away and wants to develop the right way. Brought up how the Huskie’s fans wanted him to stay, and some fans have been supportive, along with his coach. He feels the big guys in the NBA are just as important as the small guys on a team for the run ‘n gun offense and that big guys in the NBA teams can be dominant. Talked about his family of athletes, and how their advice and preperation for the NBA will be helpful.

College Player / Florida / Called in to talk about what being picked in the draft will mean to him and discusses how small his hometown is, and how good the community is, where ‘everybody knows everybody’. He also gave insight about how the town is supportive of him even with a sign saying “hometown of Corey Brewer”. Discussed what he has been going through the past few weeks with workouts and how worth it everything is and is anxious for the draft. Touched on how the team stayed together back in 2004, and the “we are all in or we are all out” feeling. Described a very close bond with everyone on the team. Brought up how supportive his parents were of his decision to go back and play at school. Went on to talk about how close his relationship is with his father and how hard his father worked to support the family, and see’s him as his hero. Plans to offer his parents anything they want with his first NBA check. Reflected on the injuries with the team and the championship.

Former NBA star, now coach of Atlanta Krunk / New team in just formed league / Anderson talks about his dream of becoming a coach after playing and being home in Atlanta makes him comfortable, and eager for the challenge. He talked about wanting to coach the team with a passion, and teach his players. He went on to talk about the coach who really made the biggest difference, Chuck Daly and about former coaches that he loved playing for. And he gave insight about his approach to coaching. In wrap, he discussed desire to someday coach in the NBA and talked about his days at Georgia Tech…plus playing basketball growing up.

Ohio State / Former NBAer / Currently playing for Menorca Bàsquet of the Spanish ACB / Blogger and Author / Paul talks about the real NBA, the corporate side, the fracturing of the teams and things he believed as a child reading up on the NBA players did not come close to being the real truth when he began playing in the NBA. He went on to say that most players our concerned about their ‘sponsors’ and ‘girlfriends’ and cheating on their wives while saying the Lord’s Prayer before the game…saying that religion has no place in the sport being that most players don’t follow it. Paul talked about his own career and still wanting to get better in basketball…most recently playing in Spain in the 2nd best league in the world. He talked about life in the NBA vs life in the CBA or other leagues and being cut from an NBA team. He talked about player’s with guaranteed contracts and that there are not many “Bruce Bowens” out there looking to hang on to it all by any means. Paul went on to talk about life on the bench, hanging on to the future, knowing he might not get the meaningful minutes. He admits that when he started writing about the “Inside” that it might lower his chances to play in the NBA again. Paul spoke about making the “first shot” in the NBA playing for the Chicago Bulls and how that felt and his attempt to start up a TV show on Basketball in Hollywood and that it became the NBA version of “Scrubs” instead.

6 Seasons San Antonio Spurs / 12 Overall Seasons in NBA / 3RD Championship / Bruce talked about his 3rd Championship win, comparing which win was the best, enjoying the moment, he talked about guarding LeBron James during the Finals and his fellow teammate Tony Parker and his growth in the sport, he talked about head coach Gregg Popovich’s tough love in the ‘player’s league’. He then talked about Tim Duncan not getting caught up in the antics that other guys in the league might and it being one of the reason that the Spurs’ have so many rings…on top of that he mentioned how the team has learned ‘life lessons’ from “Pop” that keeps them in line. Bruce touched on the topic of being known as a “dirty player” and how he feels about that. He talked about his days at UC Fullerton and believing then that he would be here now…not being drafted directly into the league.

He went on to speak about Ginobili’s game and high scoring for San Antonio. ‘Hubie’ then talked about his last time coaching with the Grizzlies at age 70.

Rick says he was not just looking for any job, but rather just looking for a “special situation” ending up with the Rockets. His spoke on his last few years with the Sacramento Kings and coming so close to winning it all. He went on to talk about his success in “The Player’s Leauge” working with the harder talent and getting along with them.
