Ohio State / Former NBAer / Currently playing for Menorca Bàsquet of the Spanish ACB / Blogger and Author / Paul talks about the real NBA, the corporate side, the fracturing of the teams and things he believed as a child reading up on the NBA players did not come close to being the real truth when he began playing in the NBA. He went on to say that most players our concerned about their ‘sponsors’ and ‘girlfriends’ and cheating on their wives while saying the Lord’s Prayer before the game…saying that religion has no place in the sport being that most players don’t follow it. Paul talked about his own career and still wanting to get better in basketball…most recently playing in Spain in the 2nd best league in the world. He talked about life in the NBA vs life in the CBA or other leagues and being cut from an NBA team. He talked about player’s with guaranteed contracts and that there are not many “Bruce Bowens” out there looking to hang on to it all by any means. Paul went on to talk about life on the bench, hanging on to the future, knowing he might not get the meaningful minutes. He admits that when he started writing about the “Inside” that it might lower his chances to play in the NBA again. Paul spoke about making the “first shot” in the NBA playing for the Chicago Bulls and how that felt and his attempt to start up a TV show on Basketball in Hollywood and that it became the NBA version of “Scrubs” instead. / 6-15-2007
