Kevin Connolly who plays Eric “E” Murphy & Jerry Ferrara who plays “Turtle” on HBO’s hit series “Entourage” enter the Jungle / Kevin and Jerry talk to Van Smack about their huge careers and amazing luck for landing their roles on HBO’s “Entourage”. Kevin says the show has “struck a nerve” with fans about “Hollywood”. Kevin says the “Slam Man” Jay Mohr was a huge part of Kevin visiting the Jungle. Kevin talks about his character being the one with the morals trying to do right in a town with a reputation for “dirt bags”. Kevin talked about how Mark Wahlberg reached out to him and wanted him to read for the show…saying it changed his life by doing so.
Jerry talked about humpin’ it in a Boston Market…coming to Hollywood…trying to make it in Hollywood…and not knowing if was all going to pay off or not. Jerry said for a time, he was trying to get around without a car in L.A. Jerry talked about his character on the show being nothing like what he’s really like today…with the exception of maybe when he was younger. Jerry said he’s amazed that he gets questions if the Marijauna are really real on the show?!
Kevin talked about the “best walk-ons” that have visited the show…Gary Busey, James Cameron, Anthony Michael Hall and Bob Saget came to mind off the bat for the two. The two also talked about those out there in the sports world that enjoy their show…one being Derek Jeter. Kevin talked about playing golf and getting to play with the “Great One” Wayne Gretzky at the Sherwood Country Club…and Kevin is a huge Hockey fan. Kevin talked about the alleged accusations that Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight bit him on the ear!
Jerry talked about not knowing his “real name” on the show and only being known as “Turtle”. And even on the radio show, “E” gets tons of calls from women listeners of the Jungle offering pics of themselves and more to the single Kevin Connolly. The boys than talk about problems that can occur between actors and directors…and directing is 10 times more difficult than acting. And both agree this is the best job they have ever had in their careers! Jerry talks about his relationship as “Turtle” with “Johnny Drama” on the show. The boys also talk about their favorite ‘eats’ in town, so the lady Clones know where to look for them! Kevin and Jerry both said there is no “laying back” with the show and that they strive do to their best to take the show to the next level. Jerry talked “being about sports”, listening to WFAN in New York and Romey offered him a fill-in spot next time he goes into the ‘basement’. / 7-27-2007
