Sports Writer Kansas City Star / Jason talks about Michael Vick and his getting caught up with Dog Fighting…a popular part of the “gangsta” culture. Jason says Vick and many athletes are stuck in a culture of not evolving and rather “keeping it real”…and not being a “sell out”. Jason goes onto say many athletes that are becoming stars with lots of money are trying to live the same life style rap music stars maintain…basically not growing up. He says Vick has failed to evolve from just playing games to becoming a leader for the Falcons and the Atlanta community. He says Vick needs to listen to the Falcons organization rather listening to those who will say this is just “racism”...Jason says that’s a failure of the black community to just write it off as racism. Jason says this is a case of a profile issue and not a race issue…talking about the flack he receives for his opinion from both the white and black communities.
