You may recall last week I burned on a high school coach in Louisiana dialing up a behind the back pass on a two point conversion. Never has anything so wrong been so hilarious! I figured it would be a long, long time before I saw a more absurd piece of video from an amateur game. Well, I was wrong! Because it took less than a week!
Check out this gem involving the Las Vegas Cobras of the semi-pro Wild West Football League. Check out the Cobras’ punt returner, whoever he is. He fields the ball on a bounce, manages to stay in bounds, makes a couple of guys miss, heads up field, gets into the clear….and “Uh-Oh”! Wrapped up and dragged down….by his own guy. Incredible!
And by incredible, I mean awesome! What a perfect form tackle! Check him out…he gets low, throws his hips, warps him up, and drags him down. Too bad the guy was on his own team! He should have just stripped the ball and brought it back the other way. Why not talk a little junk after that big tackle?! Or style with it a dance?!
Look, I’d love to give this guy a pass and say he was confused because the uniforms look so similar, but he was on the punt return team…why was he tackling anybody?! And I love the way the punt returner, what’s his face, tried to throw that little stiff arm. At his own guy! Like he knew it was coming or something. Next time, you better cut back, break his ankle with a juke, or give him a bunch better shake, because this guy has your number. And you have to face him every single week!
