Emotional Day In San Diego

Extremely emotional day for the Bengals who had to come to San Diego and play a game in an unbelievably hostile environment, just three days after they lost their teammate Chris Henry. “Ochocinco” considered taking the field in Chris Henry’s jersey before…but decided not to do it. He felt it would have been a distraction and ultimately not the best way to honor Henry.
I think he did the right thing in not doing it, but I think some of the heat he took for considering it was misplaced and out of line. He wasn’t looking to make it about him. That wasn’t a pub grab for Chad…a look at me moment. Chris Henry was his guy! He loved him! He was extremely close to him. Even referred to him as his little brother!
Chad was coming from a very good place when he thought about wearing his jersey. He was trying to figure out the best way to honor him and ultimately decided Henry wouldn’t have liked the distraction and all the drama that came along with a... More »

Steve Smith Has One Rule

This just in....Steve Smith will go! And to any defensive backs out there who have never faced Smith, when you're preparing for him during the week there are a few basic things you need to know before you try to check him.
One, he's very dangerous after the catch! He loves to throw double-moves. He doesn't give up on plays. And perhaps more importantly...he will go. I say this because apparently some young D-backs in the league haven't read the scouting report on Steve Smith and don’t know what this guy is about. Don’t know his deal! No names mentioned…Vikings’ corner Benny Sapp.
Sapp ran his gap at Smith last night. And that was all #89 needed to spend the second half abusing and embarrassing Sapp. Then when the game ended, an embarrassing loss by the Vikes in a game they had to have…Smith broke down the rules of his game. And to hear him tell him, it’s really, very, very simple!
You know how that went down, right. Smith is minding his... More »

Brett Favre Wins Argument

Coach Brad Childress had a moment on the sideline. The Vikings couldn’t get anything going offensively, couldn’t slow Julius Peppers down, and the ‘Ol Gunslinger was getting the snot beat out of him. So Brad Childress went to him on the sideline and told him reportedly…he’d be taking him out of the game. At which point Favre informed Childress that he would not be coming out of the game. And that was that!
I wonder if he told him if wanted to keep his job as head coach, he had one second to get out of his way and get Bryant McKinnie some help before he got both himself and Favre killed.
I’m going to have to go with the “Gunslinger” on this one. It was the third quarter, 7-6 in a game they had to have. Sure, the guy was taking a pounding, and it didn’t look good, but the ‘Ol Gunslinger as much as anyone deserved the chance to grind his way through it. What, did you think someone on the bench was going to give you a better chance of... More »
