Warner Isn't Holding A Presser
Still no official word from Kurt Warner as to whether or not he’s going to retire. But I don’t think he’d go to the trouble to gather family and friends for a Friday presser just to announce he’s returning for another year. Although I wish he would! Fact is, while most guys stay too long, he’s leaving too soon. He’s leaving plays and wins on the field. I’m not talking about a guy who can simply manage a game and minimize mistakes. I’m talking about a Super Bowl caliber quarterback. He’s not Joe Willy on the Rams. Or, Johnny Unitas with the Chargers! This is an elite player, on a contender, who just quarterbacked his team to one of the greatest postseason wins ever. Of course, that was before he took one of the greatest postseason licks ever from Saint Bobby McCray. You could see where that shot might be rattling around his dome some. And I’m sure he remembers the kill shot Eric Smith delivered that shattered Anquan... More » |
Gilbert Arenas Is Lucky
Not only does Gilbert Arenas’ punishment fit the crime, he’s lucky it’s not even worse! The only thing more infuriating to David Stern than Arenas going “Tank Johnson” in the work place…was his treating it like a big joke a few nights later in Philly. That’s why he’s not saying or doing anything right now. Saying or doing the wrong thing, or threatening to appeal his suspension probably would have gotten him a full 82 games…instead of the 48 he’s currently looking at. Again, there’s not much worse than bringing guns to the workplace. Except, maybe being oblivious to the damage you’d done and trying to put out that fire with a gas can. And making a mockery of the entire proceedings! Knowing he’s the “Associations” biggest clown ever, how did someone close to him not get to Gil’ and say, “Zero, this is a huge problem. I know how you roll, bro’. I know you think this is hilarious…just as I know you’re going to say or do... More » |
'2' Throws All His QB's Under Bus
There has been a Terrell Owens sighting! I have to give to my man. He just endured one of the worst years of his entire career. His Buffalo Bills were terrible, he never got off, and with the window about to slam shut on his career, essentially wasted one of the last remaining productive years he had left as an athlete. But he handled it! He stayed down. Didn’t make any waves or create any distractions. Didn’t even run his Q.B. under the bus! He did and said all the right things….and it couldn’t have been easy. So big ups for that, but it couldn’t last forever. After all, all good things come to an end. Despite being named the “Receiver of the Decade” by USA Today, Owens told the paper, “I know hands down I’d be close to Jerry Rice’s records if I had been with quality quarterbacks like he had. He had Joe Montana and he finished with Steve Young. That wasn’t a drop-off. Say I had been with a guy like Tom Brady, Petyon Manning or Drew Brees... More » |
