Generally, I think Tiger Woods did pretty well in reading his prepared statement today. Again, he would have done much better had he not controlled and manipulated the entire proceedings and turned it into the dog and pony show that it was. He should have manned up by reading that statement and then taken questions from journalists instead of just inviting a few media toadies who weren’t allowed to speak.

And I’m not talking about questions regarding who he got with and where. I’m talking about what happened on Thanksgiving night.

Woods was furious over reports that his wife Elin assaulted him with a nine iron and denied them vehemently. That’s fine. But if there was no altercation, why did you run out of the house barefoot, in the middle of the night, and drive into a tree in a single vehicle accident? Why were you asleep in the street? That’s a question that needs to be asked and that he still needs to answer.

In terms of what Woods said, here’s what I was looking for from him prior to him getting in front of that one camera. That one camera that went down, so it’s a good thing they had a second!

I was looking for him to day: “I screwed up badly. I jacked up my marriage. My family. My career. My reputation. And my life. And I did it because I was arrogant. Privileged. Entitled. And drunk on my own power. Success. And wealth. I thought I was bulletproof. And above the law. And that the rules that applied to the rest of you didn’t apply to me. I was out of control. And I have no one to blame for that but myself. I wasn’t the person who you all thought I was, but I’m going to spend all my time and energy now trying to be that guy. I was wrong and I have no one to blame but myself.”

Tiger also blasted the media for hounding his family and asked that they stopped doing it immediately. Good luck with that! You’re barking up the wrong tree on that one, my man. The paparazzi are undefeated. You cannot beat them.

I respect that you’re looking to protect your family; I’d do the same. Any man would! Well most wouldn’t put their family in the position in the first place. They didn’t start staking out your school kids, until you started running around off the course. But you’re fighting that fire with gasoline!

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you in principle…they shouldn’t. But they feed their family, by taking pictures of your family. I don’t think Harvey Levin is going to think to himself…“oh, Eldrick doesn’t want us to shoot his family anymore…fair enough…there’s plenty of celebrities we can shoot.”

And calling them out probably made it worse…not better.

How does LeBron James play his best game of the season; maybe the best game of his career and the Cavs still lose at home?! It’s because there was another “Alpha Dog” in the building and he tapped the ‘King’ right out. The ‘King’ may have gone Playstation all night, with the difficulty level stuck on “rookie” in dropping 43, 13 and 15, but it didn’t matter because Carmelo Anthony matched him dagger-for-dagger and a game winner, with LeBron right up in his grill. Have some! How’s that taste? Didn’t matter!

A perfect shot beats a perfect check every single time.

Never thought I’d see the day anyone punked the ‘King’ in his own house. Think LeBron will take that one very hard? He’ll take that one to his grave. Or to New York or Miami. Or wherever he signs next year! Because a game like that and a loss like that might actually get him to re-think whether or not he wants to stay.
