Bradford Nails His Pro Day Workout

Sam Bradford just made himself some serious cake, by addressing virtually every rap and crushing his Pro Day. Granted, he didn't go all rock star, and it wasn't "Tim-a-palooza" like it was down in Gainesville with 3,000 shrieking fans in attendance, but he did put on a show. He was all business. And he made every throw. And appeared to answer every question about his surgically repaired wing.

His last throw was a 65-yard dime, he laced in stride, right into the basket. That's money. A lot of prospects don't make that throw, early in their workout, on a fresh wing. And he ended his day with it.

And the guy showed up looking like a "Mike" linebacker, stiff-arming away any questions about his durability. At times, he did look a bit fragile at O-U, especially when he was getting busted up by a LB from BYU. Not anymore...dude packed on 13 additional pounds and looks like Brian Urlacher in the pocket.

Let me be the first to... More »

Smith Good With Being The Number 2

Carolina Panthers wide-out Steve Smith has always been a different cat. One of the game's most dangerous play-makers at 5-9, and a guy dangerous enough to break his teammate's face. Yet, deep enough to begin preparing for his life after football by interning at Morgan Stanley in the off-season. A guy with more rage, competitiveness, and pride than probably any athlete I have ever seen. A guy who simultaneously fascinates and scares the hell out of me. And he just did it again...

Most great athletes are the last to know they've lost a step. And at an age, when most are desperately fighting to hold on to what they had or insisting they're still worth what they've always made, Smith admits he's probably no longer a number one receiver: "...well the thing is, everybody keeps saying a compliment receiver to complement me…I don't won't anyone to complement me. I'm turning 31 years old, people can say I'm losing speed, yada, yada, yada. I would like a... More »

Cavs' Fan Willing To Do Painful Things

Cleveland fan, 93 days until LeBron James can bust out and ruin your lives. How hard are you gripping now? I know Cleveland GM Danny Ferry has done absolutely everything in his power to give 'Bron what he needs and prevent him from bolting. But what if it's not enough?! Each and every one of you, need to ask yourself what have you to done to keep LeBron in Cavaliers' gear? What price have you paid to keep the King in town? What sacrifices have you made? That's what I thought...none.

Well, none...except this nut. This King honk and masochist over at InLeBronJamesWeTrust.com is going Johnny Knoxville. Looking to nail 23 stunts over the next few months and will post them online in an attempt to keep LeBron in town. He knocked out his first, waxing his chest hair! Bro, the 40 Year Old Virgin wants its stunt back...and so does 2005. That's not going to be enough to keep this guy in town.

Fortunately, he knows that and has plans to dial-it-up;... More »

Nets Choked By Not Finishing

I don't like saying this about any athlete or team on any level. I don't do it very often. And I always give considerable thought before I get up here and let it rip. I mean, you say this about a player or a coach, and it's a reason to go. And I get it...it's the worst kind of indictment. I get that and know that. That said…the New Jersey Nets choked!

They went right into the tank in rolling over and beating San Antonio last night for their 10th win of the season. Goodbye record, goodbye shot at being the worst NBA team ever. Chokers.

Look, you get that close, with a shot to break an unbreakable record...you have to finish. And the fact that they didn't shows how little heart they have. Now you're going to have live that the rest of your lives. And I'm going to have to live with that the rest of my life. I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Just as I know this group didn't have the heart or courage to finish this thing. That was... More »
