Big Ben Won’t Face Criminal Charges
Ben Roethlisberger won’t face criminal charges after being accused of sexual assault but that doesn’t mean the league and or the Steelers won’t hammer him and someone should. The Steelers essentially fired wide receiver Santonio Holmes for bad behavior; and considering Roethlisberger’s act is worse, they have to come down on him, hard. Not doing so would be evidence of the worst kind of double standard, and further divide a locker room that already doesn’t have Roethlisberger’s back. Not only does Roethlisberger not get it, you wonder if he ever will. Look at his act over the last five years. His coach told him not to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, he ignored him, it nearly got him killed and even that didn’t serve as a wake-up call. He continued to pound the brick, get after it and then (last summer) was accused of rape by a woman in Lake Tahoe. Although he denied the allegation and no criminal charges were filed, he was still facing a civil... More » |
Problem With Pulp Nightclub
Although I’ve covered this recently, it looks like I need to cover it again right now. Upon seeing Rays star Evan Longoria bounce one off the speaker attached to the catwalk at Tropicana Field, over the weekend, Yankees catcher Jorge Posada complained, "It’s not a baseball stadium." Right, Jorge. No one said it was. In fact, what the Rays said, as you’ll recall, is the trop is a “baseball nightclub.” Which I had had to change it’s name to Pulp because no one’s going to a club unless it has a slick, gloss one word name. You know. Pulp. And that speaker that you're complaining about is there for a reason. That’s what I'm saying. Just because the bouncer made you, Jetes, C.C., Joba and Tex wait behind the velvet rope is no reason to hate, Jorge. He knows you’re there. He’ll get to you. The fire marshall is inside right now, they’re at capacity. Just be patient. Who said anything about a baseball stadium? The Rays and Pulp management... More » |
