Love Joakim’s Effort
Normally, I don’t hype a guy after a loss. Especially, after running his mouth non stop before the loss. And after I said the guy should just shut his mouth and play. But how do you not respect Joakim Noah’s effort last night. If you can back it up, you can pretty much talk all you want; and even though Chicago came up short against Cleveland and it’s going to be a short series, Noah backed up all the junk he ran at the City of Cleveland. And he did in their house, with them booing his every move. But what’s he care? This is nothing new. This is where this guy lives. He was annihilated the second he ran out of every tunnel in the SEC and all he did was lead Florida to two national titles. They hate him in Boston. They hate him there in C-town: they pretty much hate the guy everywhere, but Chicago. But he doesn’t care. Doesn’t care and isn’t coming of his crack back on Cleveland as a crummy town: “You like it? You think Cleveland is cool? I’ve... More » |
Biggest Bust Ever, Owning It
Everyone is playing their favorite draft game: not speculating on who will go first. But rather, asking who was the biggest bust ever? Tough call: so many tanks: in no particular order: Lawrence Phillips…Tony Mandarich…Heath Shuler…Joey Harrington….Tim Couch….the Boz. The list is endless. But when you get right down to it, the biggest draft bust ever is, and always will be Ryan Leaf. That’s a given: what’s not is, on the week of the draft, Leaf, for the first time is owning it. Shockingly, when L.A Times columnist TJ Simers ran him down, he didn’t tell him ‘Don’t talk back to me, all right. Knock it off.” He said, I am the king: “If I’m going to be the biggest bust, I have to own up to it. I used to go to bed at night hoping somebody else like Heath Shuler might magically leapfrog me on those all time bust lists. It never happened. Why? Because I am No. 1. I can’t even think of anyone else in the ballpark that close to my combination... More » |
