I really don’t know what happened in Lawrence Taylor’s hotel room early Thursday morning. Taylor’s attorney insists his client did not have sex with the victim. Fair enough; I don’t know, I wasn’t there. But let me ask you this though, what was a 51 year old, married man, with children of his own, doing in a dirty hotel room with a 16 year old runaway? If he wasn’t having sex with her? Was he helping her with her homework? Showing her how to use her new I-pad? Helping her decide if she is team Edward or team Jacob? Of course, his wife has already said he was “set up.” Hey, whatever works for you? And I’m sure his lawyer will try to argue the same. All right, I’ll play along. He was set up. Set up by whom? It didn’t take long for Eric Byrnes to find a new team after being released by the Seattle Mariners. Then again, it never does. Byrnes has played for the A’s, Rockies, Orioles, Diamondbacks, Mariners and now…will bat clean up for….the Dutch Goose Pub, Mashers! That’s right. He’ll be mashing for a softball team in Menlo Park, California that’s sponsored by a beer and burger joint. And he’s jacked up about it: “This is going to be a blast, playing with my buddies.” It is going to be a blast, E. Especially since the Mariners will be paying you 11 mill to do it. Normally a big leaguer would hate softball guy, but Byrnes is softball guy. An 11 mill a year softball guy. Best gig ever.

Pirates outfielder Lastings Milledge found a way to turn an RBI double into an epic fail last night against the Cubs. This is incredible. Check it, out, bottom of the fourth, bases juiced, and Milledge is still looking for his first bomb of the year. And he got all of this one…there it goes, a grand slam…Uh-oh!!!! Off the wall, but dude didn’t know it. He’s in his homerun trot, head down, arm outstretched like he’s Joe Carter or something, only to get hung out between second and third. Uh-oh! Owned. Afterwards, he did his best to roll with one of the most embarrassing plays ever: “I think that was the most exciting double in PNC park history. I never thought that it didn’t go out because the music was playing and the fireworks. But clearly it didn’t go out, it was a double and I’ve got to go in the weight room in the morning.” Yeah you do, player.
