Hard Time Buying Philip To Chicago
ESPN’s Chris Broussard is reporting the Bulls have reached out to Phil Jackson through back channels to gauge his interest in returning to the franchise where he won six NBA titles. That according to two sources with knowledge of the situation. No way. And what do you think the chances are Jackson was one of those sources? Allegedly. I’m sure the Bulls probably do have some interest: one of the best ways to recruit Lebron James is to have a Hall of Fame coach in place for when he arrives. But you have to wonder if Jerry Reindsorf is any more interested in meeting Jackson’s price than Jerry Buss isn’t. Furthermore, just because Chicago has interest in Jackson doesn’t mean he has any interest in them. Other than using them to jam Buss to get what he wants. Nash Is A Hard Cat
The Suns and Lakers hook up in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals tonight. Turns out Steve Nash’s stat line for Game 3 was; 17 points, 15 dimes, 1 turnover and one busted beak. This cat’s hard. If he’s not being run along the boards, he’s getting his eye dotted. And if he’s not getting his eye closed, he’s getting his beak smashed through the back of his head. The guy practiced yesterday before leaving to have it put back in place. Not that he didn’t try and do it himself during the game Sunday; “I was trying to move it while it was still fresh. I know that once it sets, it’s harder.” Nice. What is this, flesh or Plaster of Paris. Is this an NBA series or a saw flick. Has there ever been a series when Nash didn’t get his face caved in? 59 Win Teams Should Show Up More Often
Now we’re supposed to think the Orlando Magic are warriors because they managed to avoid getting swept. I’m not buying it. No credit for finally showing up. Well, two of them did anyway, Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. Question is; why they waited until game four to do it? Where was this sense of urgency in Game 3 after they had been punked twice in their own house? Or in Game 1, When the Eastern Conference Finals started? There’s no vindication in a win like this. If they have that in them, why didn’t they bring that same sense of urgency to first three games of the series: it is the Eastern Conference Finals. It’s not like they haven’t been here before. Photos: Game 4 Highlights And I don’t want to hear about how tough it is to man up and ball, when you’re down 3-0, and on the road. It’s called doing your job. Actually having... More » |
