SC Fans Are Ripping Trojan Flags

Sad day here in Southern California where front running, smack talking USC fans are ripping Trojan flags off their beemers…taking razor blades to their windshield decals and removing their license plate frames. Can’t represent when they’re ripping your National Title nor allowing you to play for another. Allegedly, probably, I guess that’s what Pete Carroll meant by needing to take care of some unfinished business in the NFL. That, or stay one step ahead of the mob and beat it out of town before it all came down. Because it just did.

And while Carroll sits in Seattle, pulling an NFL paycheck, with a chance to rebuild his rep and regain some cred in that league; USC is left to deal with the fallout from his... More »

Kane Knew It Went In

The Blackhawks did it, they won their first Stanley Cup in 49 years. Even if no one really knew they had. How weird was that game winner? Patrick Kane knew it went in, but in the absence of a flashing red light, no one else really did. The whole scene was so bizarre; it had me flashing back to Brett Hull’s skate being in the crease in 1999. But Kane did beat Michael Leighton and that was one of the stories of the series; the Flyers between the pipes. If Philly gets even better than average goaltending, they’re still playing and might even win the series.

Don't Think It Would Go Well For Izzo

Who am I to tell Tom Izzo what to do? It’s his life. And career. And I have way too much respect for the man to do it. And if he’s always had the NBA in the back of his mind and can’t shake it, he should go. Because at 55, he may never get another shot to address that Jones. That’s a big swing right there; but it’s a man’s game, and if you have to get it out of your system, you do it. I just don’t think it’s going to go well. Not with LeBron…and especially without him.

Without him, it’s a straight money play. As a college coach with no pro experience and very little talent on that roster, he has no chance for success without Lebron. That’s a straight cash grab and his return to the college game would be inevitable. Even with LeBron, he’s guaranteed nothing. What’s hardcore, old school, Tom Izzo going to do when... More »
