Take(s):

Greatest Look At Me Moment

Michael Jordan says there’s no way he would have done what LeBron James just did in joining Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in South Beach. Of course not. Jordan never wanted to run with Isiah Thomas, he wanted to kill him. And Erv and Larry never sat on the bus when they were on the Dream Team talking about how much easier it would be if they played together instead of trying to knock each other out. Honestly, I don’t have a huge problem with the decision. Now, the announcement, that’s a different story.

Photos: The Decision And Introductory Press Conference

That was the biggest ‘Look at me’ moment in sports history. But if LeBron ran away from Cleveland to Miami, to relieve the pressure, all in the name of winning, that’s fine. Just as long as you stop with this nonsense about wanting to become the best ever, and a global icon. Global icons, and MVP’s don’t jump... More »

Shrek Delivers Performance For The Ages

One word to describe the Open Championship. Boooring. Boring tourney… but a great story. And more importantly, a dominant performance by a guy most had never heard of, and who’s name even fewer could pronounce, Louis Oosthuizen. This cat has officially arrived. That was no fluke, and he’s no joke. This isn’t a guy who came out of nowhere, caught lightning in the bottle, only to never be heard from ever again. No names mentioned, Paul Lawerie. And Todd Hamilton. No way this guy goes Ben Curtis.

He has way too sweet a swing, too good a dome and a serious set of stones. Sure it was a boat race. But just because you’ve never heard of him, and it was the most boring major ever, doesn’t mean Oosthuizen isn’t a great story. You can have Eldrick getting right… I’ll take the son of a dairy farmer who would have never even been there... More »

Boxing Needs A Dana White

Maybe I should throw on my affliction tee and my flat brimmed tap out lid for this. If I owned either. But how do you explain there not being a single fight MMA can’t put together. But boxing not being able to pull off the only fight anyone cares about? But considering Floyd Mayweather didn’t even bother to respond to Manny Pacquiao's deadline and isn’t saying why, it doesn’t look it’s going to happen any time soon.

I mean, does Floyd sound like a guy who wants to fight: “I’m not really thinking about boxing right now. I’m just relaxing. I fought about 60 days ago, so I’m just enjoying myself, enjoying life, enjoying my family and enjoying my vacation.” Gotta give it to him; that does sound a lot more enjoyable than getting punched in the face repeatedly. It sounds great. That said, these are the two biggest names in the sport. They say they want it. We all want it. The sport needs it. And it would be for the biggest pot of cash ever. So not...
