Take(s):

Easy Bud, It's The Minors

Major League Baseball shouldn’t break its arm patting itself on its back for implementing random blood testing for HGH in the minor leagues. And I wouldn’t be looking for them to nail anyone for using it either. Not when most minor leaguers can’t afford it. And not when this test has only produced one positive result in the world over the last six years; a knucklehead rugby player, who testing officials were tipped off on before the test. So there was nothing random about that one. So you’d have to be pretty stupid to get caught using with this test.

Look. It’s better than nothing. But not much. Not if it’s not reliable and especially if it doesn’t make it to the major league level. Unless it’s a precursor to that, it’s absolutely worthless. No one cares about testing minor leaguers who probably aren’t using anyway. That’s nothing more than window dressing and Bud Selig trying to convince us that the roid era really didn’t happen and that he... More »

Elvis Is Staying In The Building

Great day to be a Broncos fan. Because for the next 6 years… Elvis will be in the building! Hey-o!!! 6 years, $61 and a half mill. And the shortest pass rusher in the league is now one of the richest, because he’s one of the best. You might question some of Josh McDaniels’ decisions but not this one. He may have run Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall out of town, but not Elvis. Not a guy screaming off the edge and wrecking anything standing in the backfield.

And no one other than the mulleted mad man, Jared Allen and the Ferrari that is DeMarcus Ware, has done a better of job of getting to the Q.B. than Dumervil has since he entered the league. This is a character guy and a locker room guy and it hasn’t mattered where they’ve put him, he’s made plays. Some... More »
