Money Doesn't Want This Fight
Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum had said previously that all “Issues were resolved” and it was just a matter of finding a date for Mayweather-Pacquiao. Mayweather promoter Oscar De La Hoya said last month negotiations were quote “Very close.” But Mayweather and his people insist negotiations never even took place. So someone’s lying. And apparently it’s Mayweather and his handlers. HBO Sports President Ross Greeburg says there absolutely was a negotiation and that the fight’s not happening this year: “I had been negotiating with a representative from each side since May 2, carefully trying to put the fight together. Hopefully someday this fight will happen. Sports fans deserve it.” They do. The question is, after being jerked around as badly as they’ve been, do they even still want it? Photos: Money May's Career

Like Two To Nati
I like Terrell Owens to Cincinnati. And not for the reasons you may think. Not because I think it’s going to be a circus with a couple of pub addicts and look at me divas, fighting for attention and the ball. Although if that happens, and it probably will, that’ll be great. I like it as a pure football move. It’s no longer good enough to just run the ball and stop the run. That was just enough to get them bounced in the first round last year. You also have to be able to throw it. And they couldn’t. Look, T.O.’s not the dominant player he was in Dallas. Maybe he can’t get off the line the way he used to. And no longer has any interest in going over the middle. But that doesn’t mean he has nothing left and won’t help them. Because he will. He can still stretch secondary’s and make defenses pay that double Ocho Cinco or roll help over to his side. Something they didn’t have last year, and was one of the reasons they were one the worst passing teams in the NFL.... More » |
Year Of The Stupid, Humiliating Injury
This certainly is the year of the pitcher. But you know what it really is. The year of the stupid, humiliating injury. Sure, baseball’s good for a couple of those every single year; the season is way too long, with too much down time and too many knuckleheads not to see a few of these injuries. But this season has been like no other in that regard. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more ridiculous than Kendry Morales turning home plate into a landmine and snapping his stick. Or Luke Scott taking sniper fire to the hammie during his home run trot or Mike Pelfrey forgetting his skymall pillow and jacking his neck while sleeping on the team plane… or Mat Latos wrecking himself sneezing… just when you thought it couldn’t get any more ridiculous, in steps the 2009 NL rookie of the year Chris Coghlan who incredibly tore up his knee with the “Oh so fresh” pie to the face routine.
