It was an absolutely brutal way to lose a shot at his first major, but that’s on Dustin Johnson and not the PGA of America, tournament officials, the course designer or his caddy. Sure, Whistling Straits has about 1100 more bunkers than it should have and it’s confusing and overly tricked up. But you need to know that going in. It is a major, after all. And you need to know the rules. And there’s no excuse for not knowing them. Especially since they were posted in the locker room and a copy was given to every player.

I understand that no NFL rookie has ever been hyped the way Tim Tebow has. Just as I understand that if you’re fortunate enough to spend 5 or even 20 minutes with him, your…well…never mind. Look, no way this guy makes his NFL debut and I don’t talk about it. In fact, I’ll even give him a grade; an “S”…. For satisfactory. He was solid. I didn’t jump off my couch or anything, but he had some moments. It was nice to finally see him get under center and make some throws on the run. And I did like him dropping a dime right over the top and into the bread basket. Too bad Matthew Willis tried to catch it with his grill.

Carmelo Anthony is in no rush to sign that $65 million dollar extension the Denver Nuggets have offered him. He says he wants to weigh all his options and then played the proverbial, “I have to do what’s best for me and my family” card? Really? Because if you really want to do what’s best for you and your family, you’ll take that guaranteed $65 mill. Right now. Especially with a new labor agreement looming. I’m guessing this has more to do with wanting to be the LeBron of the 2011 Free Agent class. And when you say, LeBron had never been recruited and you’ve already done that and don’t need that. That tells me one thing; you want to be recruited and wooed. And that if I were to offer you an hour one night on ESPN to announce your decision, you’d jump at that too.
