Former Cleveland Browns' Q.B. Derek Anderson got off one of the best parting shots I've ever seen from a fired employee "the fans are ruthless and don't deserve a winner. I will never forget getting cheered when I was injured. I know at times I wasn't great. I hope and pray I'm playing when my team comes to town and (we) roll them." Just as I'm sure they'll never forget you calling them "ruthless" and saying "they don't deserve a winner". Oh, you'll be playing when your team…when you find one…comes to town; I'm just afraid it will be as a holder, on extra points. Pretty hard to celebrate a beat-down when you have nothing to do with it. That said, Anderson does have a point. No matter how badly you want a win, or how much you hate a guy, cheering while he lays on the ground, with a shredded knee, is brutal. That says more about your life not turning out the way you had hoped, than it does your team having a bad year. Then again, what's that rip-job on the way out the door going to get Anderson? They were out of line to cheer an injury, but he's coming off like the disgruntled, fired employee, walking out with his pathetic box of picture frames and potted plant, who thinks he was way more valuable to his employer than he really was. The guy who stops at the elevator just long enough to get off his "some day I'm going to own this company" blast…no you won't. That employee never does. In fact, that employee never gets a gig as good as the one he just lost and never appreciated in the first place. You banked their crazy jack, so suck it up, and keep moving. And keep that "they don't deserve a winner blast" in your back pocket. |
