Things are heating up in New Orleans where the face of the franchise, Chris Paul sat with management and reportedly officially asked for a trade. New GM Dell Demps and new coach Monty Williams are urging Paul to at least give them a chance, but apparently Paul has already made up his mind and wants out. Looks like Paul has gone to school on that bomb LeBron James dropped on C-town. Photos: CP3's Career And James and his crew are clearly in Paul’s head. Bad enough James left the Cavaliers in ruins, he apparently is urging Paul to do the same to the Hornets. He tweeted recently, “Best of luck to my brother…do what’s best for you and your family.” Translation, do what’s best for me and my marketing firm as I continue to try to build my base of power outside of South Beach. Why is James pushing Paul to do anything at all. How does that involve James? I get that today’s generation of players al look up to James. I’m just not sure why. He’s still looking for his first ring and couldn’t have handled his departure from Cleveland any worse than he did. Guys like Chris Paul really should make their own decisions. Especially, since from the looks of things, James doesn’t make any of his own. I’m not saying that Paul shouldn’t push his organization to do more. I’m saying a guy with that good an image shouldn’t commit brand suicide. Especially when someone else with their own agenda is pushing him to do so. |
