Ron Artest's Crazy "Do"

Another reason I'm not hammering the panic button on the Lakers, is because "Ron-Ron" tricked out his lettuce. I get that a chunk of the "Laker Nation" thinks the team was better with Trevor Ariza than it is Artest. And that Artest himself is still trying to figure out what it's like to be option number four…instead of one or two. And that he's been dinged and not necessarily what everyone thought he would be. But they brought this guy in for what he could do in April and not before.

And I like the guy’s attitude and most of all I love his lettuce. That’s not some cheap pub-grab or a look a me dye-job. That's Artest looking to kick-start his inner "Ron-Ron". The "tru-warrior" has been the true gentleman, and that's not going to fly. And he knows it. He needs to get back to playing really rough basketball. The way it was back in the day. Remember the "guy getting killed with a table leg" story? He decked out his dome, "worm style" to geek himself up. And he got righteous with it, spelling out defense in three different languages.

And unlike some 13-year-old girl who gets played by a parlor artist who says he’ll give her a Chinese tat which means 'hope', only to ink her with the symbol referring to death, "Ron-Ron" researched his dye job. His barber, Boogie, says he got all Twitter with it before he started carving. You have to love a barber getting network run during the game. I just hope it's not the last time we see it, because come playoff time, "Ron-Ron" may have to deal with the likes of Durant, Dirk and 'Melo'. And his 'D' has to be as tight as his lettuce.

Just to be sure, if I’m Phil Jackson, I'd drag a dinning room table to the side of the court. Just to be sure.
