What would you give to get Tim Tebow's signature on a piece of paper? Apparently, some 1,500 people were willing to pay $160 bucks for it. And some of them threw down an additional 75 bones for a picture with him. Tebow, who says he a portion of the proceeds was donated to his foundation was blown away by the proceedings: "...it's an honor to have people want to have your autograph and want to be around you:" Right.

And it's even greater honor if you can jam those same people for 160 bucks for that autograph. Man, that's a nice haul. Do the math. 160 times 1,500 is 240-grr. And that doesn't even include the pictures. My man, are you Timothy Richard Tebow or Pete Rose? How long before you show up in the forum shops charging for your "Hancock".

You know the guy who has made missionary trips to the Philippines, Thailand and Croatia. The guy who circumcised kids in the Philippines. And routinely visits schools, churches, hospitals and prisons. The guy who turned down an offer to be on the Playboy All-American team. The guy that "if you're fortunate enough to spend 5 or 20 minutes with, your life will be better for it". There's just something about this that seems off.

The only thing more bizarre to me than someone willing to pay 160 bucks for someone else’s name on a piece of paper…is that Tim Tebow is the one asking for the money. But I see you working, Tim. Better strike while the iron is hot, because no one is throwing down one sixty for an H-Back's signature.
