Demarcus Lawrence’s Straight Fire

The Cowboys are ready to make a statement.

A couple weeks ago, if you looked at tomorrow night's matchup on TNF you were only looking at the subplots. Dallas-New Orleans wasn't as much a game as set of Prop Bets be….

Would Dez throw up the X against his old crew?

Would Jerruh finally drop the hammer on Jason?

Would Sean Payton do Dallas dirty the way he absolutely throttled Philly two weeks ago?

Again, a set of Prop Bets, because there wasn’t a game worth talking about; not when the Cowboys had no business being on the same field with Saints: hell, had no business even being in the same sport as the Saints. But…

Well… what a difference a couple weeks makes.

Dez never made it to gameday. The Ging might never get fired. And Sean actually has a challenge ahead of him as my man Rod Marinelli has that Cowboys D mann'd the hell up.

The Cowboys are 6-and-5. They're sitting on top of an absolutely whack NFC East. But if you ask them, they're ready to make a statement.

Jerruh's calling Thursday Night game the team's Super Bowl. That's a strong statement. But what Demarcus Lawrence said is even stronger. Check what this dude told the Dallas Morning News:

"They're going to have to match our intensity. BLEEP, for 60 minutes straight, if you hit a mother-BLEEPER in the mouth and then they ain't doing what they're regularly doing, putting up 50 points. They start to get a little distressed. Now, you got them where you want them at, and then you BLEEPING choke their ass out."

Holy Bleep. Let me read that again, because that is some straight freaking LAVA:

"They're going to have to match our intensity. BLEEP, for 60 minutes straight, if you hit a mother-BLEEPER in the mouth and then they ain't doing what they're regularly doing, putting up 50 points. They start to get a little distressed. Now, you got them where you want them at, and then you BLEEPING choke their ass out."

All that's missing from that statement is "WHEN I GET HYPED, I TAKE MY SHIRT OFF. I TAKE IT OFF."

Look, Demarcus Lawrence is a bad, bad man. And if a dude like that is going to drop fire like that, then you know my man Rod has the shovel extra sharp and the will beyond outstanding. And he's gonna have that defense fired freaking up for T.N.F.

Look, I’ll be straight. I've had some tough things to say about the crew formerly known as America's Team. Now, I’ve always respected the way Jason Garrett clapped. Dude could turn on every light bulb from El Paso to Abilene with two crisp ones. But I haven't always respected the way he's coached.

So I’ll say this: SHOW OUT TOMORROW NIGHT, and I’ll believe.

I'm not jumping in the front seat of Jerruh's bus until I see this team beat a squad that isn't lower than a crippled cricket's ass. Three weeks ago, the Ging gravy-trained Rod's D to a victory and finally remembered he had Zeke Elliot 7 yards deep.

Two weeks ago, he played it vanilla to put the game on the back of a kicker who missed kicks in three straight games and shanked an extra point earlier that day. But Brett Maher knocked a 42-yarder through to beat Atlanta. And last week he took on a Redskins squad still reeling from Alex Smith putting his foot on backwards.

So as much as I'm absolutely LOVING the heat coming from Demarcus Lawrence's mouth, I'm gonna need to see it first.

But…I’ll be straight: You have my attention. That's more than I thought I'd be giving these guys when Jace was defending his decision to punt on 4th and 1 on the Texans 42 yard line in OVERTIME.

Now go toe-to-toe with these dudes in the center of the ring and we’ll actually have something real to talk about.
